Our Values

At Little Thinkers Nursery School, we take thinking seriously.

Our ‘curiosity approach’ aims to create ‘thinkers & doers’ by putting your child at the centre of their own development and education.

Modern toys are removed from the learning environment and replaced with everyday items to encourage children’s natural curiosity and eagerness to explore and create. We aim to plan your child’s curriculum around their wonders.

Our Promises

We promise that your child’s key worker will build a unique bond with your child. They will develop their mind and character through energetic and warm interaction.

We promise to develop your child’s learning habits. They will start to think about others and be able to cooperate and communicate in a group.

We promise that our curriculum will be full of wonders. Children will imagine, predict and persist in new understanding. Their language skills will grow.

We promise to share your child’s journey with you. You will be able to help to ‘light up learning’ through sharing their wonders and new learning habits.

Imagination

Imagination

We seek out moments that wow and captivate children, causing their eyes to shine and their tongues to stick out in deep concentration

Energy

Energy

Children learn and develop well in energetic, enabling environments with teaching and support from key adults. Key workers will respond to children’s individual interests and needs and help children to build their learning over time.

Resilient

Resilient

Every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.

Questioning

Questioning

We will evoke our children’s curiosity from a very early age.
Curiosity is largely impulsive, young children are attracted to new and interesting things. They express their curiosity through all their senses by asking 'What does it look like?'  'What does it feel like?'

Cooperation

Cooperation

Children learn to be strong and independent through building positive relationships.

Language

Language

Children’s’ back-and-forth interactions from an early age form the foundations for language and cognitive development. The number and quality of the conversations they have with adults and peers throughout the day in a language-rich environment is crucial.
